The 2012 RVCC prize night was held in the Radisson Hotel last Friday night.  This was a double celebration as we helped Seamus Doran celebrate his 80th birthday in style.  A record 65 were in attendance and the craic was good.  

Seamus is our most senior member and he had turned 80 just the day before.  He has been known for cycling since before almost anyone else in the area had race bikes.  He is still a regular at club races, helping to marshall events on Wednesday nights.  He is also still an enthusiastic cyclist himself and revealed he has just invested heavily in some new carbon fibre to see him through the next ten years.

We were delighted to have both Nancy ans Seamus with us, and also to have Seamus present the prizes.

As usual there was a mass of silverware to present and it was great to see so many young people do so well.  There is also a lot of evidence that our women are also gathering strength in both numbers and talent.  This will make for an exciting 2012.
